3. Apple Cider Vinegar:Screen Shot 2015-03-27 at 11.49.25 AM

This stuff isn’t just good for cooking, it can actually help cure acne and skin irregularities! Our skin is naturally acidic but when we use harsh cleansers and soaps, that natural acidity of our skin is disrupted. This destroys the acid mantle of our skin, which is needed to protect our skin from germs, bacteria and pollution. Apple cider vinegar returns the acidity to our skin and restores that acid mantle. It also kills bacteria, removes excess dirt, oil and makeup and dissolves dead skin cells.  You can find it at your local grocery store!

This stuff is amazing, it’s right up there on my list right along with Apple Cider Vinegar!  Activated charcoal is great at pulling out toxins from your body, whether you have a stomach bug or a bad case of acne, this stuff is a godsend!  If you want to make a charcoal face mask to draw out impurities from your pores try steaming beforehand.  Mix 1 tsp of activated charcoal with 1 tsp purified water, 1 tsp aloe vera gel and a few drops of tea tree oil.  Apply to skin and let sit for about 15 min and then wash off with warm water.  You can also use this stuff to whiten your teeth, just put a little bit on your toothbrush and scrub away!  And don’t be afraid to swallow, this stuff is meant for ingesting!  I got mine on Amazon.com here

Most deodorants and anti-perspirants contain aluminum, parabens and propylene glycol. Research is now finding links between between these chemicals contributing to chronic diseases such as Alzheimer’s and breast cancer. So what’s the solution? Make your own deodorant so your body can be healthy and happy!

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup Baking Soda
  • 1/4 Cup Organic GMO free Corn Starch (You can find this at any natural food store)
  • 3 Tbsp Organic Coconut Oil
  • 1 Tbsp Powdered Confectioner’s Sugar
  • 1 Tbsp Beeswax beads
  • 20-30 drops Vanilla Essential Oil (or other scent, optional)
  • Small jar or empty deodorant tube stick

Found on homemakerchic.com

1. In a double boiler, melt the beeswax beads.  Once melted add the coconut oil and vanilla oil.  Once your oils are blended add in the powdered sugar.

2. Keep the mixture over the heat and begin stirring in the baking soda, and corn starch, sprinkling it in slowly. It will start to thicken up a LOT. Just make sure everything is well incorporated.

3. Now you can pour the mix into either the jar or the deodorant stick. Allow it to set up at room temperature for a couple hours. Don’t put it in the fridge or it might crack.
